Manage Payment Methods and Understand Booking Charges

Vanly keeps payment information and booking charges inside the secure booking process. This guide explains how to prepare a payment method, review the complete price of a stay, choose which card to use, and understand when the charge happens.

Before you begin

  • A signed-in Vanly guest account

  • A valid credit or debit card

  • A listing and dates selected for booking-specific steps

Step 1: Add and manage your payment methods

Open Settings, then select Payment Methods.

To add a card:

  1. Select Add card.

  2. Enter the requested card information.

  3. Select Save Card.

  4. Confirm that the saved card appears under Payment Methods.

To manage an existing card, open its options menu:

  • Select Set Default to make it your preferred payment method.

  • Select Delete to remove the card from your account.

You can still choose a different saved card while completing a booking.

Manage Payment Methods

Tip: Add a payment method before starting a booking to make checkout faster.

Important: Only enter card information through Vanly’s secure payment form. Never send payment details to a host through messages.

Step 2: Review the complete booking price

Before continuing with the booking, review the selected dates and arrival schedule.

Open Price details to review the complete cost. Depending on the stay, the breakdown may include:

  • Nightly or hourly booking charges

  • Selected paid amenities

  • Selected experiences

  • Service fee

  • Coupon or duration discounts

  • Total (USD)

If you have a valid coupon, select Enter Coupon, enter the code, and confirm that the discount appears in the updated total.

Open Rules & cancellation and read the listing’s cancellation policy before continuing.

Find a Stay

Tip: Review the total again whenever you change the dates, add an amenity, select an experience, or apply a coupon.

Important: The cancellation policy can affect how much you receive back if you cancel a confirmed booking.

Step 3: Select a card and submit the booking

On the Confirm step, review the total and select the payment method you want to use.

  • Choose Select beside an existing saved card.

  • Select Add card if you need to use a new payment method.

  • Confirm that the correct card appears as the selected payment method.

The timing of the charge depends on the booking type:

  • Request to Book: Your card is charged only if the host accepts the booking request.

  • Instant booking: Your card is charged when you select Confirm and Pay.

Read the payment message shown on the page before submitting your booking.

Tip: Check the final four digits of the selected card before submitting.

Important: Selecting a payment method does not always mean the card has already been charged. Check whether the button says Request to Book or Confirm and Pay.

Step 4: Check payment and refund information

Open Trips and select the booking you want to review.

Open Price and payment to see:

  • The booking price breakdown

  • Discounts that were applied

  • The payment method used

  • The amount paid

  • Refund-adjusted information when a refund has been issued

If you choose to cancel an eligible booking, review the cancellation window carefully before confirming. Vanly shows:

  • You’ll be refunded: The estimated refundable amount.

  • Non-refundable: The estimated amount that will not be returned.

The refund depends on the booking status, the listing’s cancellation policy, and when the cancellation occurs. After a refund is issued, the time it takes to appear can depend on your card provider.

Open Trips

Tip: Review the displayed refund estimate before confirming a cancellation.

Important: Do not assume every cancellation qualifies for a full refund. The estimate displayed by Vanly before confirmation is the relevant amount for that booking.

You’re ready

You now know how to manage your saved cards, review the complete booking total, choose a payment method, and check payment information after submitting a booking.
